Two Boys
Over five years I collaborated with two boys, Elijah and Jonah, on a photographic project. This series of photographs explores themes of trust, the role of nature in child development, and memories of childhood. In this environment I watch and record their actions as children and human beings as their varied personalities, contrasting roles and push-pull nature of their relationship emerge. I am interested in their relationship separate from domestic life and the watchful eye of parents. I want to allow them the freedom to create their own hierarchy and order as well as reenact their dreams and nightmares. The natural environment serves as a setting for friendship and aggression, fear and fantasy.
